Rescued US Explorer "Mark Dickey" Describes Ordeal in Turkish Cave as a “Crazy , Crazy Adventure”
Dickey developed serious stomach issues while navigating the remote tunnels of the Morca cave, Turkey's third-deepest cave.
In one of the largest underground rescue operations, around 190 expert rescuers from six countries worked tirelessly to bring Dickey to safety.
After receiving intensive care including IV fluids and plasma, Dickey improved and managed to ascend the cave.
The rescue process involved widening cave passages, inserting ropes for vertical shafts, and setting up temporary camps.
After rescue, Dickey was in great health. The European Cave Rescue Association thanked everyone involved in the successful operation.
