Man City Drop Out Of Declan Rice Race After Arsenal Make Improved £105m Bid
Manchester City is no longer interested in Declan Rice, the leader of West Ham, after Arsenal made a better offer of £105 million for him.
The PA news agency says that the Gunners made their third offer for the 24-year-old England player on Tuesday.
This comes after the Hammers turned down their first two offers.
It was also said that City had a deal for £90 million turned down, and the treble winners have now chosen not to try to match or beat Arsenal's offer.
Arsenal has been a fan of West Ham captain Declan Rice for a long time (Zac Goodwin/PA).
It is thought that the Gunners have offered £100m plus a possible extra £5m.
It would make Rice the most expensive British player ever and beat Arsenal's record move price.
It is thought that West Ham is upset with the proposed payment plan, but instead of rejecting the offer outright, they are now trying to bargain.
Germany forward Kai Havertz, on the other hand, has been easier for Arsenal to sign.
Kai Havertz is likely to be introduced as an Arsenal player soon (Adam Drury/PA).
Havertz had a deal with Chelsea, so he went to get a physical over the weekend.
Video of his arrival was shared on social media, so it's likely that Arsenal will say he's joining the team within the next 24 hours.
Also, Arsenal is still trying to sign Ajax fullback Jurrien Timber as they look to improve a team that ended second last season.
