Egypt Accuses Ethiopia of Violating Agreement with Fourth Filling of Renaissance Dam

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Sunday sharply criticized Ethiopia following an announcement that Ethiopia had successfully completed the fourth and final filling of the Renaissan

The foreign ministry accused Ethiopia of violating the Declaration of Principles, signed in 2015 between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia.

A statement issued by the ministry expressed concern over Ethiopia’s disregard for the interests and rights of the downstream countries and their water security.

Cairo has indicated that the most recent negotiation round regarding the Renaissance Dam.

Concluded late last month, saw no tangible change in the Ethiopian side’s position.
