Balinese Cat (Long-Haired Siamese): Breed Profile
Balinese people are renowned for their brilliance, friendliness, curiosity, and playfulness as well as their stunning beauty.
Additionally, they are quite outspoken and demanding.
A genetic mutation that occurred spontaneously in pure-bred Siamese cats and resulted in the development of a longer coat type gave rise to the breed.
The name "Balinese" was given to the cat because the breeders believed the cat's grace and elegance resembled that of the dancers in the Bali temples.
Despite the fact that the Balinese have no connections to Indonesia (their Siamese relatives are actually originated from Thailand).
The history of the breed is brief. Following the appearance of long-haired Siamese kittens in a litter, they were first introduced in America in the 1940s.
The first Balinese breeding program was started in the 1950s as a result of the breeders' efforts to foster more of this spontaneous mutation.
However, this caused a stir among purists and is one of the reasons they are no longer referred to as "Long-haired Siamese" within breeding circles. Some people may simply see the
